Description

I've been getting a lot of IRL praise for this one XD I'm afraid it'll go to my head.

Anyways, this is probably the first REAL portrait I've made (eyes and lips proportioned, at least) although I cheated a little and looked off of the game photo here: [link]
(Note: I DID NOT trace. Tracing off of a work that isn't my own offends me and I hate the concept...the most I'll do is look off of a picture and draw that, which even many professional artists still do today. Do not judge >.<)

The face is a little off and I'm not the most pleased with the shading, but really, this is probably my best work as of now. I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions on my work, so I'll open up critiquing for now. Any trolling like what I had in the past and I'm done. That's it. No more.

But....yeah! Just decided to plop down on the chair yesterday and start sketching my Justice!Anders (hence Janders, for the uninformed). I told my sis I may yet draw a Fenris, or perhaps my Hawke, but for now I'll allow Anders to have the spotlight XD
And I'm really excited at this realism thing! Of course I'll still draw my usual stuff and....stuff, but just knowing that I have the ability to realize something opens up my options and gives me more to work towards.

Anyways, lost my train of thought (went searching something Dragon Age and completely forgot what I was doing XD) so I'll end my description here. Done with nothing but a mechanical pencil, an eraser, and a finger XD Hope you all enjoy!

This is a very beautiful piece, Shire. I agree that it's probably the best thing you've ever done, and realism from you is awesome~
I adore all of the shading. That's probably the jewel of this on anything that has skin.
On a random note, that's a pretty amazing ear.
The textures of the hair/beard/eyebrows is very well done, as are the whatever-you-call-them on the shoulder.
On the topic of improvements, as you said, the face is slightly off. I'm not great at anatomy, but I believe the nose is a bit too long and the eyes are too close together, but it might be something I can't place.
His collar on the left side is slightly... well, the stripe seems to be kind of straight-angled, if that makes sense. In comparison to being curvy.
Overall, very amazing. Keep it up~
